My Wedding gift tradition

I always loved to take pictures especially of the nieces and nephews and now my kids. I have kept a collection of photos of them and made a scrapbook of them so that one day when they get married I will stop filling the scrapbook. This is now their job to take over or do what they wish. I hope they all have enjoyed the pictures I kept of them and put into their albums. Tomorrow my nephew will be getting married so it is time to hand over the album. I hope he cherishes it and takes good care of it as I have all this time. I always try to put the album in a protective box or container so it will be easy to take care of and store for safe keeping. This is the first nephew album I have to give so no cute box for him. I put in this plastic container which looks more manly and you can see through it. Congratulations Richard and Carolina best wishes for always!

Starting on Christmas Presents!

I showed one of my friends a fabric journal I made and she asked if I would make her one too. This was back in Summer so I am sure she is thinking I forgot all about it. But not I. I love to keep info in the back of my mind with all the other useless info back there. I decided to make her journal all black and white fabric with colorful embelishments. I left it a little plain because I want her to use her own creativeness on it. Everything in the book I put down and sewed has something to do with her life. The dog shape is to represent her dog Lucy with the intial L. She loves to take photos and she has a sunflower tattoo etc. You get the general idea right? I hope she loves it!

My Mother's Shawl

I recently made this shawl for my mom for her birthday. It is crocheted and out of I love this yarn color antique. I thought it isnt the usually brown or gold just a mixture of the two. Since my mom gets cold easily nowadays just thought she could keep this on the sofa and grab it when she got a little chille. I hope she uses it.

Summer is almost over!

Summer is almost over and we didn't even have time for a vacation. Oh well guess we will take one in the fall. Finished alot of knitting projects and we got our Etsy store up and running. It is exciting to see what sells and comments. I did get to have a few craft days with friends and went to a concert so over all it was a relaxing summer.

Summer is going way too fast!

I am getting really bummed because this summer is going too fast. Pretty soon back to homework with the kid and all my teacher friends will be going back and not able to hangout anymore. We haven't taken a vacation yet or anything yet but my weekends have been quite busy getting together with family and friends. I will be really glad when this humidity goes away! I am going to see Grease (because it is the word!) with nieces and sisters this friday the sing along one. Then the next weekend It is Pat Benatar and Reo Speedwagon totally 80's flashback time. Need to start some projects soon but giving my hand a rest from knitting. Maybe I will finish at least one of my art journals.

My latest cards

I had to make a set of birthday cards for a card swap coming up and I just love my paisley cricut cartridge. I am finally getting to use the nesting dolls for something. I couldn't figure out how to make them open up maybe a friend could suggest something so I just connected them using a brads. They came out very colorful and I hope everyone thinks the saying on them is clever. Oh I didn't take a picture of the envelopes but they have a stamped doll in the bottom left corner of the envelope.

Infinity Scarves

I just got done making two Infinity scarves for a good friend of mine. They were quick to make and only took one skein of yarn to make. I made them 53 inches around and about 7.5 inches wide crocheted. I think these scarves will be very popular this winter along with the cowl scarves also. So we are ready for Fall!

Look what I did!

A friend taught me how to do this fabric/paper journal. I really like it and it was fun to make. Almost everthing was sewn on only a few stickers here and there. I finished it in two days. I think this is the quickest I have finished something.lol Now all I have to do is write in it.

Finished the Snuggle up Blanket

We recently changed the style of our tv room. We are going comtemporary now and it looked to plain so I wanted to throw some color in. I am aiming towards red but not too much. I thought if I had a nice throw I could lay across the dark brown leather sofa it would give some color to the area. I used the pattern called snuggle up #69 from a crochet book I believe it was a leisure arts book I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I used TLC yarn in the colors Barn Red, Golden, Dark Brown and Celery. I have always loved these colors together. So we are set to snuggle up on the coach and watch tv together.

My lazy sunday

It is Sunday and I have so many things I want to do all at the same time! I want to crochet on a blanket that I am almost done with. I want to work on my new art journal and actually get some journaling done in it. I want to rearrange my bedroom and sit outside in my garden? I think if I had a craft room this could all be done but I have to do my projects in the appropiate spaces. So I guess I will just sit here looking at more blogs and getting inspired to do many new things. Maybe Monday will be the day I get some of these things done.

Mother's Day Cards

I have alot of special friends that I wanted to say Happy Mother's Days to. They are extraordinary women who make a difference in this world and their children will prove this in the future. Hope each of them have a very special day and know they are loved.
