The incredible Mr. Limpet
My sons birthday was the 12th of december and we had already given his gift earlier so on his birthday it seemed weird not to hand him something so I had started this fish beanie that you can either make X's over the eyes like dead fish or alive. I decided to make him alive and I know I wanted his eyes to be blue. Once I put the eyes together it reminded me of the Incredible Mr. Limpet with Don Knotts wishing to be a fish. I didn't put glasses on mine though. Samuels favorite book when he was little was A fish out of water also. So it was kind of a theme birthday. I knitted the hat then later found out there was also a crochet pattern for it! I could've finished it way sooner if I would have known that but it came out pretty cute knitted and all. Sam wore it to school the next day so I guess he liked it. The animal and character hats are big this year so it fit right in.

Scram!
Just got done making an order from my sweet little niece Jillian! She had requested me to make her an Oscar the Grouch hat a few months back. I am sure she thinks I forgot but not me! It just took me time to plan it out. I found the perfect fun fur color for her hat. It is called Riot Eyelash by Yarn Bee.I used Chocolate fun fur by Lion Brand yarn for the eyebrows and two large white plastic buttons and two smaller size black plastic buttons for the eyes. I really like the way it came out and will make another one someday soon. I hope she likes it but I hope she is happy when she wears this Oscar hat.

Another gift finished!
A friend told me about this pattern and it was so adorable I had to make one myself. I had my little niece in mind when making this. It is a 3 to 6 months baby shrug. I think she would look look so cute with this over a summer dress. I had to make a matching headband too. I know she will look fabulous in them both!

My latest project for the store.. Apple Jackets
Yes, I know it sounds silly and may even look silly but I love the look of a juicy red or green apple with a jacket/cozy on! All the possibilities of designing these cute cozies. I think it is a great momento to give to a new teacher, past teacher or friends and family that are teachers. Plus there are alot of people who love Apple decor. Here are a couple that I have made out of the twelve. Some I already sold! This cute ladybug on leaf and anyone who is my friend knows I love Jack Skellington!

Big Honkin Bag
I have been knitting this bag for a Knit-a-long knowing the finished project will be a gift for my big sis Gloria. I started it in May but had other projects to finish first so this kinda got put on the back burner. This was an easy pattern but I kept messing up on it. Errr! But once I got to work on it more frequently the less mistakes I made. I had to knit is with cotton yarn and small size 2 knitting needles which killed my fingers! It called for me to make the handles out of the same yarn but my sister is a little hard on stuff so I bought some handles. It didnt call for the big honkin button on the front but I thought it added something to it. Since this knit is so tight there was no need for lining the bag.I chose these colors because my sister loves the beach and sea shells and these colors reminded me of waves in the ocean. She can use as a beach bag book bag or overnight bag etc. My big sis Gloria is 56 now and I hope she loves her Big Honkin Bag! Happy Birthday Sis!xo

So done with Facebook!
I am so tired of hearing over and over of people miss-using Facebook. Face book was originally a great idea for people to keep in touch with family members and friends. Cheaper then paying long distance phone bills or don't want to wait to call someone but has to wait till after 9pm for free minutes. I really enjoyed it at first reuniting with old friends and now meeting family that I had never met. Putting the name with the face so to speak. But lately all I hear is how this cool idea has gotten people in trouble with their jobs, marriages, relationships etc. I think half the people on facebook are just being nosey rosey people. I have come to realize that if that person really wanted to find me or communicate with me they could have just called me. I keep all my friends true and dear to my heart so I can just pick up the phone or email or mail a letter. Some people use it as a venting out or to complain about stuff or some people just have a lot of negativity and just brings everyone down with them. I don't watch the news because it is mostly depressing and now Facebook is too. I have more time in my day now because we all know how addicting it is. lol But I actually spoke to my friends today on the phone and didn't have to start to get carpel tunnel in my hands. Well this is all I have to say about it I wish someone could come up with a nice letter and post it on Facebook of how lucky we are to have it and how we should keep the world a happier place. (oh please excuse my typo's I am not a writer. haha)

Another Canon moment.
This Easter I got to take a lot of pictures of my precious little cousins. I couldn't wait to get home and play with my photos. Here are a few I am proud of. I tried that Take a picture a day but it wasn't as much fun and felt more like a chore. lol So I will post my photos every now and then on my blog.

Little Bella Riding Hood
I couldn't wait to make this little capelet for my newest little niece Juliana. I thought by the time it was cold again she could use it for Halloween or as a cape for the holiday season. I had her big sister Isabella model it for her photo shoot today. I knew I wanted a picture of it and the picture to be antiqued to give it a vintage look. I really think that Bella thinks it is her cape now and carried it out on the hanger for mama. I may need to make her a bigger for the holiday season too. She looked adorable and was so nice to model it for me. Love you Bella!

A sock monkey hat for Jack!
The Lion and the Lamb
I made this lion that I found the pattern for in a Crochet today magazine. It came out bigger then I expected but it came out right. My friends daughter liked it and asked can you make a lamb now? Obviously she is a Twilight fan. (who isn't?) So she gave me the idea to make a lamb. I just used the same instructions for the lions mane for the wool on the lamb. So here they are and I sold the set to her. This was all crocheted.

Sock Monkey leads to more...
OK so I started making sock monkey beanies. Then everyone liked them so I started making a whole bunch. Long story short I made one for my sons friend and he had a great idea for me to make the 4 characters from the Kia commercial which one is the sock monkey. He put the sock monkey beanie on his head rest of his new Scion and thought it looked cool so he asked if I would make the robot, bear, and cyclops guy too for the other three seats. So of course this is a challenge and I did it. I don't think I will do it again because I like to keep my stuff unique. So I guess he will be the only one with these head rest covers. He should feel so lucky! lol

My knitted Sack Boy.
I don't know why but I think this sack boy character is so cute. He is from the PS3
Little Big Planet game. I have made a few before but I had crocheted them and they were way smaller. You can see them here in a way earlier post. Back then I was scared to try it in knitting because I wasn't up to that level. So I finally got brave and made one. It was fun until I had to sew all his parts on. lol But I managed and I have thought about putting him on my etsy store but I want to hold on to him a little longer. I just made a baby beanie recently too and it was just the perfect little head for me to see how the beanie would look on a baby. It is a little too big for my Sack Boy but you can get the just of it anywhoo! I think I will make another but work with 2 pieces of yarn at the same time. Just to make it seem thicker and warmer.

It is another beautiful day here in AZ!
I am loving this weather finally the perfect az weather has arrived! Time to start planting flowers and veggies. I love to change things around in my garden (sanctuary). I went to Barnes & Noble and found this cute basket in the clearance area. I have a few coke bottles from when we used to buy coke in the bottles long ago. Yes I am dating myself. lol. But it's all good! My husband thinks I am a hoarder but I just appreciate good stuff. So I bought this basket and it is perfect to display my coke bottles. I told him I was just waiting for something to display them in and I have found it. Just another decoration for my garden. I make get some fake daisies and put one in each coke bottle? hmmmm?
My first crocheted baby dress finished!
I found this cute pattern in Crochet today magazine and wanted to try for my soon to be new little niece. I made it in the 6 months size because when they wear cute stuff like that they usually aren't crawling yet. The pattern was called Sunshine Baby Dress. I love the color lavendar and her mother looked so good in lavendar when she was a little girl. I took me a day and a half to finish. Of course I put aside house work to do this. ( I have to admit)lol. It was a simple pattern and easy to follow just the type I love. I will be adding baby booties to match and maybe even a bonnet. Hope she likes and of course her mommy will have to take a picture of her in it. I chose the color pink for the flowers because I think lavendar would to be too much of the same color. I love the button closure on the back it looks like a pearl.
